Pine Straw :: Long and Short Needle
We harvest top quality long and short needle pine straw for mulch from local
stands of pine trees, with some supplementation from pine straw suppliers
from up-state South Carolina and the southern part Georgia. Sod Busters Turf,
Inc. prides ourselves on the cleanliness of our bales and the bright color of
the pine straw we offer. Of course, the color DOES vary throughout the year
because of the natural life cycle of the pine needles from the pine trees. Our
bales weigh approximately 20 lbs. and cover approximately 60 - 70 sq. ft. with
a two-inch thickness.
Prices for wholesale delivery of pine needles are $3.50 per bale, with a $50
fuel surcharge per order. We deliver the straw in dry van trailers, much like the
one shown at the bottom right of this page. Our bulk-order customers have 3
months to keep the trailer with no additional charge; after 3 months, however,
there is a $100/month rental fee for keeping the dry van trailer.
Approximately 1100 - 1250 bales come on a wholesale trailer, depending on if
the trailer is a 48' or 53' dry van. Landscapers, golf courses, home-owners
associations and maintenance crews purchase our wholesale straw throughout
the year.
For homeowners, we gladly allow straw pick ups, and the price is $4.00 per
bale. We just ask that you give us notice that you are coming so we can be
sure we have the straw available.
